I love this footage. It’s always a treat to catch Ryan behind scene’s of him creating his music, now watch as they follow him through Harlem and get more in depth with his journey. He’s gonna release the ‘Making of Transition’ documentary on his site when he reaches 150k followers on his Twitter. Transition, in stores now.

I post everything Ryan, but this is a dope insight on his evoltuion, saying “originally i was supposed to be a brain surgeon” ; how his dad maxed out his credit card and told Ryan he had to pay him back double of what he gave him in 5 years and Ryan paid him back double in 7 months. Tonight Ryan will be performing in Times Sqaure! One day i’ll get to witness it for myself lol.

09oigyoigy2 Mini view w/ h.e.r.: KiD CuDi
h.e.r.: Compare this time last year in your life to now.
Kid Cudi: Well back then I barely ate, now I eat too much (laughs)

h.e.r.: So now that you’re an artist, how has the experience been, knowing for a while that you were the only one who believed in yourself..
Kid Cudi: It was stressful, it sux when you know your worth and no one else does.

h.e.r.: Is that how “day n nite” came about?
Kid Cudi: Well, we would need another 2 hours to tell the story for it to all make sense. Let’s just say at that time in my life, the sky was falling, all at once. You name it, I was going through it. Heartache, death, financial issues.

h.e.r.: Now out of all the places you’ve performed at so far is there or was there a place/performance you enjoyed most?
Kid Cudi: I think the VMA’s was the illest show so far cuz of the magnitude of the situation and what it was, but as far as overall most enjoyable show I’d have to say my mixtape release party in NY.

h.e.r.: Recently Kanye suprised many when he proclaimed you as “the best new artist” as well as showing up to a couple of your events including your mixtape release party.. how does it feel to be supported by such a major act so early in your career?
Kid Cudi: It’s almost unreal cause we’re cool on a level like I’m a fan of his shit and he’s a fan of my shit u kno? It’s the illest thing cause bein around him i see how he creates records and how his mind works is similar to where I’m at mentally and creatively so it’s like great minds think alike. When he makes suttin I’m like, DAMN, why didn’t I think of dat?? (laughs).

h.e.r.: (laughs) Speaking of Kanye there was a speculation of you declaring to be part of the g.o.o.d. music crew.. is this anything beyond just a personal relationship or does it extend to a record deal?
Kid Cudi: Well rite now it’s a situation that is bein worked out, but wutever I may do as far as a label, Mr. West will be involved.

h.e.r.: Besides Kanye, who else have you been working with.
Kid Cudi: My boy dot da genius, emile, 88 keys….no features just yet.

h.e.r.: Any other projects you’re working on besides your own..?
Kid Cudi: The element of surprise is way iller if u get my drift heather boo.

h.e.r.: (laughs) Okay well what’s the word on a day n nite video? And is there a date we can expect “Heaven at Night” to release?
Kid Cudi: Me and Ye have been brainstormin, he’s gonna help me wit the visuals, should b shooting very soon. The heaven at nite video is upp in the air, the editor is stuntin so I’m thisssss close 2 scrappin it but we shall see.

h.e.r.: Is there an official album title yet for your debut? If so can we expect a date or quarter for its release. Any features you’re after or already know of? Are you going to utilize the current producers youve been working with? Can we expect a Kanye feature or any other G.O.O.D. music artist?
Kid Cudi: The title for my album is “Man on the Moon: The Gaurdians“. It’ll b out sometime in the spring Lord willing. As far as production, ima have my main dudes dat I work with…but I’m also tryna reach out to ryan leslie, he’s pretty dope and I think we could make some next level shit…and I wanna see wut upp wit organized noise. There will def be some production from kanye 4sure, and I’m tryna get big sean and common on a record.
herfection2 Mini view w/ h.e.r.: KiD CuDi
h.e.r.: Why “The Gaurdians”
Kid Cudi: This episode of my story (which is the first album) is about my birth and growin up and becoming famous…realizing my purpose as a adult when all along it was my destiny and no one had a clue….the guardians are my angels, and each feature plays a gaurdian dat represents parts of my personality.

h.e.r.: In a song you made a reference to Fools Gold, I can’t recall the song but what’s going on with Fools Gold?
Kid Cudi: I said “I’m a fool for gold, but in crazy for platinum”. Basically saying I gotta take it to another level, a bigger plane. So I can reach my full potential. Not a diss but my next move. I’m not signed to fools gold, never was….jus for the release of day n nite.

h.e.r.: There we’re rumors of an XXL cover with you on it, care to elaborate?
Kid Cudi: Who said that? Lol

h.e.r.: A good reporter doesn’t reveal their sources
Kid Cudi: a good artist doesn’t reveal his illness

h.e.r.: Touché cudder, touché.
Kid Cudi: (laughs)

h.e.r.: Ok winding down, create the perfect concert of your choice (your own line up).
Kid Cudi: Kid cudi, performin my whole mixtape from beginning to end

h.e.r.: What’s playing in your ipod lately?
Kid Cudi: Mgmt, my stuff, some oldies, ratatat.. the usual.

h.e.r.: Where do you want to go that you haven’t been yet?
Kid Cudi: The mountains on the moon

h.e.r.: What’s something we don’t know about Kid Cudi.
Kid Cudi: I have issues and I’m workin hard to fix em

h.e.r.: Have u ever been to heaven at night..?
Kid Cudi: I created it ;-)

h.e.r.: :o ) Last but not least, word association

h.e.r.: Ohio
Kid Cudi: My home

h.e.r.: New York
Kid Cudi: My sanctuary, my playground.. 2nd home

h.e.r.: Acting
Kid Cudi: My true talent

h.e.r.: Music Industry
Kid Cudi: Lame, wack, phoney, corny… private school for rich people. But it needs me.. To show them really what “cool” is, and cool is bein you, bein comfortable with u.

h.e.r.: Kanye
Kid Cudi: My long lost older brother

h.e.r.:
Scott Mescudi
Kid Cudi: Is important

h.e.r.: Any shout outs
Kid Cudi: Hello to everyone that loves me, I love yall.. And to everyone that hates me, thanx
